Mattias Spee
Musical discoveries in an impressive hall on the Amstel
Dutch pianist Mattias Spee is known as a musical treasure hunter: he delves into forgotten archives and brings hidden gems back to life. At the H’Art Museum, he presents an exciting program centered around the progressive Russian composer Sergei Protopopov, once censored by the Soviet regime for his bold style and identity.
Spee lets Protopopov’s work shine alongside music by his musical heroes Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, and Scriabin. Expect a concert full of contrasts: well-known masters alongside rarely heard sounds waiting to be rediscovered.
