Les Arcs
A new string quintet to discover
Les Arcs Ensemble presents a programme featuring two works for string quintet by Jorge Amado Molina and Antonín Dvořák. In Molina’s Rito and Díptico, rhythm and layered structures take centre stage, while Dvořák’s String Quintet in E-flat major—performed here with double bass instead of a second cello—offers a more melodic and extensively developed musical narrative.
Les Arcs Ensemble consists of five string players who are all active members of leading Dutch orchestras. Alongside their orchestral work, they come together in chamber music to explore a more direct and collaborative way of making music. Their programmes combine established repertoire with lesser-known works, with a focus on clarity, balance and strong musical storytelling.
