Koepelconcert with organ & string players

This programme for organ and strings centres on Antonín Dvořák. Organist Maarten Wilmink opens with a solo version of In der Natur. This is followed by a movement from the Duo by Zoltán Kodály, after which an arrangement of the Largo from Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony is performed. The concert concludes with Dvořák’s Bagatelles (Op. 47), originally written for two violins, cello, and harmonium for performance in an intimate setting. In these short pieces, Dvořák combines lyrical melodies with influences from Czech folk music.

Maarten Wilmink performs together with three string players from the Sonoro Quartet. This young quartet was selected as ECHO Rising Stars (2023/24) and has performed in venues including the Concertgebouw, the Musikverein, and the Elbphilharmonie. Maarten Wilmink has won multiple international organ competitions and was appointed titular organist of the St. Bavo Cathedral Haarlem as of January 2026. He has performed in venues including Notre-Dame in Paris and completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in organ with summa cum laude distinction.
