The theme of this year's Grachtenfestival is Green! As a result, the house, garden, and rooftop terrace concerts have been replaced by a series of performances held in and around Amsterdam’s famous canal gardens.

When the canal belt was originally designed, gardens were incorporated into the plan as well. Hidden behind the façades of the grand canal houses, these gardens form the city's secret green spaces. A 17th-century law still protects many of these gardens today.

Especially for this year's festival, a number of these normally inaccessible gardens will be open to the public and host special concerts

Twelve-year-old pianist Keshav Krishnan performs a solo recital featuring works from the Classical and Romantic repertoire. At a young age, he has already appeared as a soloist in piano concertos by Mozart, Chopin, and Beethoven, and has given recitals in cities including Amsterdam, Salzburg, Perugia, and Leipzig. In this recital, Keshav presents both technically virtuosic and more introspective works from the classical piano repertoire.

Keshav studies at the Maastricht Conservatory with Alejandro Serena and Ashley Wass. In 2026, he won First Prize at the Steinway International Piano Competition, having previously received top awards at the Princess Christina Competition South and competitions in Brussels, Brescia, and Cyprus. He has performed with orchestras including the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, and the Narva Symphony Orchestra. He has also appeared on NPO Klassiek and the television program Podium Klassiek.
