Ivan Petrenko performs a programme at the Dufay House in which imagination and virtuosity take centre stage. Chopin’s Fourth Ballade combines lyricism with dramatic tension, while Rachmaninoff’s Prelude reveals a more introspective side. In Shostakovich’s Prelude and Fugue, clarity and complexity come together. The concert concludes with Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition: ten musical paintings full of character, contrast, and colour.

Ukrainian pianist Ivan Petrenko made an early impression with his expressive playing and musical maturity. He has won prizes at international competitions in countries including Poland, Switzerland, and Germany, and has performed in venues such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Konzerthaus Berlin. As a soloist, he has appeared with various youth and chamber orchestras and collaborated with musicians such as Anna Fedorova and Quirine Viersen. Ivan is currently studying in Rotterdam with Nino Gvetadze.
