Higherlife Jam

An evening full of improvisation in which highlife, afrobeat, gospel, and jazz come together in the moment. No setlists, no boundaries, just musicians challenging each other and bringing the audience along for the ride.

Higherlife Jam is a musical meeting place where top musicians gather to create pure magic in real time. Founded in 2022 by drummer Junior Appiah, the first edition took place in the iconic A'DAM Tower and immediately became a great success.

JUNYA is a versatile artist with Ghanaian roots, active as a model, creative, and above all as a drummer. His musical foundation was shaped at a young age by his mother, who taught him drums and guitar in a gospel-rich environment.

As a drummer and collaborator, he has worked with artists such as Rimon, Fullcrate, Akwasi, and Yung Nnelg, and has performed on international stages from Lowlands to South Korea and Ghana.

Jazz Gems
The Grachtenfestival and the Keep an Eye Foundation join forces for a spectacular series of concerts called Jazz Gems. In this series, four “Gems” are selected—top-tier emerging talents who are given full freedom to curate their own program. Expect new compositions, challenging collaborations, and spectacular locations. These are the Jazz Gems!
