Farid Sheek & Sepand Dadbeh
Intimate concert at the Mayor’s residence
Farid Sheek and Sepand Dadbeh perform a programme of their own compositions for percussion, piano, oud, and tanbour in the Mayor’s House of Amsterdam. The music connects Persian musical traditions with influences from jazz and contemporary classical music. Improvisation plays a central role in their work: the pieces evolve from fixed melodic structures and rhythms into free interaction between the musicians.
Farid Sheek is a composer, percussionist, and pianist who has previously worked on concerts and multidisciplinary projects at venues including the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and De Doelen Rotterdam. Sepand Dadbeh studied Iranian music at the University of Tehran and World Music at Codarts Rotterdam. From a young age, he performed with the internationally renowned Shams Ensemble.
