Duo Fatalis
Surprising interplay between violin & cello
Isaac and Yente Lottman present an energetic programme for violin and cello, featuring music by Honegger, Ravel, and Handel/Halvorsen. In Honegger’s Sonatina, a compact and clear form can be heard, while Ravel’s Sonata pushes the boundaries of ensemble playing with sharp contrasts and a high level of technical challenge. The Passacaglia by Handel/Halvorsen concludes the programme with a virtuosic duet in which both instruments are fully equal.
The brother-and-sister duo Lottman have been playing together since childhood and have developed into a close-knit ensemble. Both studied at the Sweelinck Academy and are continuing their education at leading conservatories in Amsterdam and London. They have won prizes at, among others, the Britten Competition, the Prinses Christina Competition, and the National Cello Competition.
