Dianto Reed Quintet
concert in a green setting
With music by Hoperkirk, Manuel de Falla, and Lili Boulanger, the Dianto Reed Quintet demonstrates just how much colour and contrast is possible within the reed quintet format. Rhythmic Spanish influences, lyrical melodies, and modern sound worlds alternate throughout the programme. The ensemble also deliberately explores new forms of presentation, in which music, movement, and direct communication with the audience come together.
The Dianto Reed Quintet consists of five Spanish musicians who found each other in Amsterdam. Since its founding in 2020, the ensemble has quickly grown into a prominent name within the young chamber music scene. In 2024, the quintet won the Kersjes Prize, one of the most important Dutch awards for chamber music ensembles. Dianto has also performed at festivals and venues such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Philharmonie Luxembourg, and NJO Muziekzomer, presenting programmes in which classical music is combined with theatre, poetry, and contemporary themes.
