The city centre of Amsterdam has often been compared to a spider's web. The simile is conjured up by the many connecting streets and canals crossing the main canals. Up until 1660 the Leidsegracht formed the boundary of the city. Over the last 350 years this beautiful canal has remained a residential area. Today we will walk along the whole lengh of this canal.
